A newly built “Najmi Masajid” located on Jomo Kenyatta Avenue is a key arterial route of Mombasa. Najmi Masajid offers a blend of traditional Fatimid features from Majesty of “Al-Aqmar Masjid” as a magnificent architectural legacy of Fatemiyeen at Cairo, Egypt built in 1125AD with contemporary detailing.
To create inviolability of Prayer space located on first and second floor of the proposed structure, Ground level has been raised by creating a small community space for Congregation. Prayer space on first floor opens to a double height space with a centrally suspended Crystal Chandelier from the ceiling. The Double height space forms an overlooking gallery to the first floor prayer space, with Mvule made “kathera” (Railing) all around.
